Mammal Hands stand at the forefront of a new wave of boundary-pushing British artists, blending jazz, contemporary music, electronica, folk, and minimalism to create a sound that is uniquely their own. In 2025, the trio signed with the legendary German label ACT — home of the Esbjörn Svensson Trio — and will release their sixth studio album, Circadia, in spring 2026. It will be their first with longtime friend and new drummer Rob Turner (formerly of GoGo Penguin), marking a bold, rhythm-driven new direction.
Formed in Norwich in 2012, Mammal Hands quickly earned praise from Bonobo, Tom Ravenscroft, Jamie Cullum and Gilles Peterson for their inventive approach. Over the course of five acclaimed albums on Gondwana Records, including Gift from the Trees in 2023, the group has built an international following and a reputation for intense, hypnotic live performances.
The trio tours across Europe, Asia and North America, performing in iconic venues and major festivals including London’s Barbican, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, Montreux and Montréal. Mammal Hands create cinematic music that is deeply human and emotionally vibrant — marrying post-rock energy, folk sensibility and Turner’s electronica-inspired rhythms to craft a compelling sound, both in the studio and on stage.
