Born in 1980, composer and clarinetist Yom has spent nearly 20 years exploring a vast array of musical genres.
Yom first gained recognition for his fresh take on traditional Jewish music with his debut album, New King of Klezmer Clarinet (2008). Since then, his many projects have led him into a diverse musical landscape: rock (With Love, 2011; You Will Never Die, 2018), electronic music (The Empire of Love, 2013), classical and contemporary music (Prière, 2018), and other unclassifiable forms (Unue, 2009; Green Apocalypse, 2010).
All these journeys have carved out a unique path, creating an artistic approach and instrumental language that are immediately recognizable, expressing his insatiable quest for spirituality and transcendence.
After leading numerous projects drawing him closer to sacred music (Le Silence de l’Exode, Illuminations, Prière, Eternal Odyssey...), Yom released Célébration, a luminous album in duo with pianist Léo Jassef, revealing a new facet of his talents as a composer.
In parallel, he continues to collaborate with other performance arts, notably theater and dance. He composed the interludes for Baby-Doll, a “symphonic and migratory object” directed by Marie-Ève Signeyrole, which has taken him to some of Europe’s most prestigious stages alongside various symphonic orchestras (Paris Chamber Orchestra, Deutsche Oper Berlin, National Orchestra of Lyon, Gulbenkian Foundation Lisbon...).
In 2023, still collaborating with Léo Jassef and produced by his own label, Planètes Rouges, Yom released the album Alone in the Light, delving further into a musical exploration centered on meditation and trance.
