Jazz
Sophie Alour, born in 1974, took up the saxophone on her own at the age of 19. It was on stage that she learnt about jazz, and from the 2000s onwards she worked with a string of artists including Wynton Marsalis, the Belmondo brothers and Aldo Roman.

She has been a member of Rhoda Scott's quartet for fifteen years, and has played with Christophe Dal Sasso, Glenn Ferris, Bireli Lagrène, Jeff Ballard, Ambrose Akimusire, Leon Parker, André Ceccarelli, Géraldine Laurent, Airelle Besson and others.
Her career has been marked by numerous nominations and awards, including Django d'or 2007 for young talent, Génération Spedidam 2018, Prix Django Reinhardt 2020 from the Académie du Jazz and a Victoire in the 'Instrumental Artist of the Year' category in 2022.
