Emile Parisien is a musician who constantly redefines the boundaries of contemporary jazz. Instantly recognizable on soprano saxophone, and improvising with an open-hearted freedom, he has become one of leading jazz in Europe. A multiple Victoires du Jazz winner, he thrives on musical encounters and the exploration of unexpected soundscapes. His two-year residency at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale has allowed him to experiment with new sonic combinations. For this musical journey, he brings together collaborators from diverse worlds. Pianist Yaron Herman, Victoire du Jazz winner, is an adventurous improviser who moves effortlessly between rock, electronic, and classical music, naturally drawn into this playful alchemy. Percussionist Prabhu Edouard adds another dimension: disciple of Shankar Ghosh, he has worked with some of the greatest names in Indian music and is recognized as one of the most versatile tabla players today, his rich rhythms having already captivated Jordi Savall, Jeff Mills, and Magic Malik. Completing this remarkable quartet is bassist Linda May Han Oh. Born in Malaysia and a Grammy Award winner, she has been praised by the Wall Street Journal as “one of today’s most dynamic rising stars of jazz.” Her subtlety and distinctive musical voice bring the ensemble a sense of depth and intimacy, giving the performance a near metaphysical resonance.
