Biography

NEW ALBUM (2027)

A singer-songwriter and performer, Kareen Guiock Thuram quietly cut her teeth on stage in the early 2000s, performing her own songs and standards, accompanied by Dominique Fillon, Mario Canonge, and Jean-Philippe Dary, to name just a few. In 2003, she contributed several tracks to the album *A la vie* by singer Saya. In 2009, she embarked on a tour with singer Dominique Panol and, the following year, contributed the duet “L’écorce” to bassist Thierry Fanfant’s album, for which she wrote the lyrics. She finally released her debut album, *Nina*, in 2023, as a tribute to the American legend Nina Simone. It was a success. Kareen Guiock Thuram was named Jazz Magazine’s “Revelation of the Year” and became the first French artist to reach the top of the international TSF Jazz chart. In 2025, she released another duet, “Qui on est,” co-written with Kery James for his album *R.A.P.*

“Now that we’ve met, it’s time for me to introduce myself.” With her second album, Kareen Guiock Thuram draws us into her world and surprises us all over again. The singer-songwriter reveals herself, pairing her superb voice and elegant phrasing with a collection of luminous songs in which the drums take center stage.

To create this second album, Kareen Guiock Thuram enlisted the brilliant David Donatien, one of the few French producers to have won a Grammy Award for Best Album—Angélique Kidjo’s tribute to Célia Cruz. The result is striking and delightfully takes us back to the fiery roots of jazz.
