Biographie

Hardly more than five years of existence, and the bubbling Amazing Keystone Big Band already possesses the spirit and the soul of the most talented big band of the swing era, and the impertinent virtuosity and creativity of contemporary jazz.

The 18 fellows of this wild jazz machine aren’t just reproducing the music of the masters, Count Basie, Duke Ellington or Thad Jones. They rather consider that this handpicked- friends orchestra allows them to experiment new ideas while visiting the timeless standards of a boundless repertoire. The impressive level of its soloists - from Lyon, Paris, Brussels and Switzerland - is one of the major strength of this big band. These young people have already made theirselves a reputation.

The Big Band is currently working on different projects : Jazz Carnival of the animals, Peter and the Wolf and the jazz, Jazz & Cinema, Dance At The Gym, Tribute to Quincy Jones, and Djangovision.

The orchestra also has a very wide repertoire of jazz standards and original compositions.

Since 2010, the Keystone Big Band has had the opportunity to collaborate and to arrange some music for international artists such as : Stochelo Rosenberg, Rhoda Scott, Liz McComb, Michel Hausser, Bill Mobley, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Quincy Jones, Gregory Porter and Kellylee Evans !

The orchestra performed on prestigious stages such as Théâtre des Champs- Élysées, Jazz à Vienne, Rhino Jazz, Monastier, Opera of Saint-Etienne, Opera of Monaco, Grand Théâtre d'Aix en Provence, Salle Gaveau, Jazz à Vannes, Avignon Jazz, Marciac, Orange, Lyon Auditorium, Lille Auditorium, Musikfest Bremen, etc.
